Our Purpose

Our sub-Branch – Supporting Veterans, Serving Our Community.

Our Purpose

Rose Bay RSL sub-Branch is a member-based, not-for-profit organisation run entirely by volunteers from serving and ex-serving Defence personnel, their families, and the local community. As part of RSL NSW, we are connected to a statewide network of more than 340 sub-Branches.

Our purpose is to support veterans and their families by fostering connection, wellbeing, and community. We honour service through commemorations and work with local partners to ensure veterans receive the care and recognition they deserve. We strive to be a hub for all who have served within the Rose Bay catchment area.

We provide a welcoming place for veterans and their families to stay connected, offering access to support services, wellbeing assistance, camaraderie, and social activities.

We also organise major commemorative events, including ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day, and welcome members and volunteers who help honour the service and sacrifice of our veterans.

RSL NSW and its sub-Branches do not operate clubs or receive revenue from alcohol or gaming. Instead, we work closely with local clubs to ensure veterans and their families receive the support and recognition they deserve.

Commemoration

Rose Bay RSL sub-Branch organises major commemorative events to honour the service and sacrifice of Australian servicemen and women. Our key ceremonies include ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day, supported by additional commemorations throughout the year that recognise specific groups of those who have served.

Veteran Welfare

We provide direct support to veterans and their families through welfare visits, hospital outreach, and referrals to specialised services. Our volunteers help connect members with financial assistance, wellbeing programs, and mental health support offered by RSL NSW and partner agencies.
Our goal is to ensure no veteran is left behind, and every member of our community feels supported.
For confidential support and assistance, please contact our Wellbeing Support Officer, Charles Gallagher, your Rose Bay sub-Branch point of contact.

General meetings are held regularly throughout the year, providing an opportunity for members to stay connected and informed. Veterans from all eras attend these gatherings, fostering a welcoming environment where service, experiences, and camaraderie are shared across generations.

We commemorate most military events of national significance, and other social & commemorative events. We conduct social and commemorative events that mark major military anniversaries and visit military and other sites of historical significance to pay our respects and as group activities in the spirit of camaraderie for our members and guests.

The Rose Bay RSL sub‑Branch is committed to supporting veterans and their families, offering guidance, advocacy, and assistance when it’s needed most. Veterans can also access professional wellbeing and support services through RSL LifeCare Veteran Services, which provides specialist help across health, housing, and claims support. Our sub‑Branch Welfare Support Officer, is available to assist with local welfare needs and to help connect veterans with the right services and resources.
