Vietnam Veterans Day
18 August
11:00 AM
Commemoration at Rose Bay War Memorial
followed by a veterans luncheon at CRB
Vietnam Veterans Day is a significant day of remembrance for our sub-Branch, where we honour the service and sacrifice of the Australians who served in the Vietnam War, and pay tribute to the 521 Australians who lost their lives during the conflict. At Rose Bay sub-Branch, we gather each year to reflect on their courage, acknowledge the hardships faced by returning servicemen and women, and recognise the enduring impact of their service on veterans and their families.
Our commemoration includes a respectful service, the laying of wreaths, and moments of reflection to ensure the legacy of Vietnam veterans is never forgotten. We welcome veterans, families, local community members, and supporters to join us in acknowledging their contribution and expressing our gratitude.
Remembrance Day
Each year on the 11th November, Australians pause to honour the service and sacrifice of the men and women who gave their lives in defence of our nation. For RSL sub‑Branches across the country, Remembrance Day serves as a solemn reminder of the price of peace, the cost of freedom, and our responsibility to ensure the legacy of the fallen endures.
The Rose Bay RSL sub‑Branch will host a Remembrance Day Service at the Rose Bay War Memorial, bringing our community together to reflect, remember, and pay tribute.
For our sub‑Branch, commemorations like this reaffirm why we exist: to honour the memory of those who have fallen, to support those who serve, and to uphold the values that have shaped Australia’s military story.
We welcome veterans, families, Defence personnel, local schools, and community members to join us in this important act of remembrance.
ANZAC SUNDAY
Our sub-Branch proudly continues the long-standing tradition of holding its ANZAC March and Commemorative Service on the Sunday before ANZAC Day. This allows our veterans to participate in both our local commemorations and the Dawn Service and official ANZAC Day March on 25 April.
In 2027, our ANZAC March and Commemorative Service will be held on Sunday 18 April 2027. The march will commence at 10:00 am, departing from Vickery Avenue and proceeding along New South Head Road to the Rose Bay War Memorial in Lyne Park, where a traditional commemorative service will be conducted.
All members of the community are warmly invited to join us as we honour and remember the service and sacrifice of our fallen heroes and all those who have served our nation.
Upcoming Events
Rose Bay RSL sub-Branch hosts a range of commemorations, meetings, and community events throughout the year to honour service, support veterans, and keep our members connected. From our regular Committee and Open Meetings to major observances such as ANZAC Sunday, Vietnam Veterans Day, and Remembrance Day, each gathering plays an important role in bringing our community together.
We also hold special events including the Post Vietnam Veterans Luncheon and our end-of-year Christmas gathering. Members are able to share stories, strengthen friendships, and recognise the service and sacrifice of Australian veterans.
Whether you are a member, family, or part of the local community, we welcome you to join us at our 2026 events as we continue our commitment to remembrance, support, and connection.
